I recently had to format my harddrive and re-install everything. While I safely imported most of my email files, I stupidly forgot to export my RSS feeds before the wipe. I’ve had to clean up and start a-new. Not necessarily a bad thing, but my RSS feed is certainly smaller.
Here’s what’s in my RSS reader, and why.
INDUSTRY:
1. Hubspot’s Inbound Marketing Blog – These guys really know what’s going on with Social Media, and how to best leverage it for corporate marketing. They have tons of great tools and ideas, so they’re one of my go-to’s for ideas and marketing advice. I wholly recommend their webinars, and am a huge fan of their Grader Utilities.
2. Chris Brogan’s Blog – this guy is a marketing genius, and he gives it to you straight with honest comments. My favourites by him include his post on Getting Your Email Answered and anything from his Best Of series.
3. PR-Squared – a lot of what I do involves finding the intersect of the verticies of PR, Social Media, and Marketing. This blog is certainly a great resource, and keeps me thinking about the new developments in PR, and how it’s completely shifted the playing field. Anything in the Social Media Jedi Training is a ‘must-read’.
BUSINESS:
1. Seth’s Blog – you don’t need me to tell you who Seth Godin is or why you should check his blog. Just do it. Always.
2. Lethal Sheethal – I discovered this blog through twitter, and am glad of it. Since I’m huge into social responsibility, this blog is great for keeping me updated on the current debates and trends. I wouldn’t have ever known about “slacktivism” without it.
LIFE:
1. Zenhabits – Personal productivity and the ability to be happy is important (and not just when you’re self employed). Zenhabits has tons of great posts and resources, I can’t begin to thank them enough for their little tidbits.
2. DumbLittleMan – all about increasing your output, in tip-form. I’m a huge fan of lists, and they have everything from excersize, to networking.
So I know there isn’t much there, but I’m glad that I get the chance to start over and rediscover blogs I like and are useful, rather than collecting for the sake of it.
