Approaching bloggers is totally different to approaching mainstream press. With mainstream press, a press release is standard – but bloggers don’t like to receive the same cookiecutter release you just blasted out. I’ve found Twitter is incredibly useful for Public Relations since the journalists I’ve spoken to don’t like sifting through hundreds of emailed press releases. I recently had to format my harddrive and re-install everything. While I safely imported most of my email files, I stupidly forgot to export my RSS feeds before the wipe. I’ve had to clean up and start a-new. Not necessarily a bad thing, but my RSS feed is certainly smaller.
